Jamie West will lead Woodland Elementary as Principal. She has 26 years of experience in education, including the first 20 years teaching English Language Arts in Lewisville, Northwest, and Electra ISDs. She also served in the English/Language Arts Department at Region 9 before returning to Electra ISD as Student Services Coordinator and as a Principal.
“These experiences have strengthened my belief in building strong teams, maintaining high expectations, and fostering a culture where every student and staff member feels seen, supported, and challenged to grow,” said West. “I cannot wait to learn more about the incredible work already happening on this campus. Together, I believe we can create a school culture rooted in joy, consistency, and a shared commitment to student success.”
West is filling a vacancy left by Audra Barrett who was recently named Principal of Graham Junior High after serving as WES Principal for seven years. West will be introduced to families during a July Popsicles with the Principal event. More details about this event will be shared with WES staff and families next month.
Adam Anderson was selected to lead Graham High School as Principal. He has been in education for 12 years as a Math teacher, Instructional Coach, and Assistant Principal, all at the high school level. He also coached Football and Baseball. For the past three years, Anderson served as an Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal at Lake Belton High School in Belton ISD.
“My passion has always been to foster an environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their full potential,” said Anderson. “I believe in the power of strong relationships between students and teachers, school and families, and the school and community as the cornerstone of a successful educational experience.”
Anderson is filling a vacancy left by Joe Gordy who was recently named Chief of Student Services for Graham ISD. He had led GHS for 10 years. Anderson said he is eager to get to know the students, staff, families, and community members who make Graham High School so special.
“I plan to spend my initial weeks listening and learning, as well as understanding the traditions, strengths, and aspirations that define our school and community,” he added.
