Graham ISD has implemented a new call/message program to send information to GISD parents and staff. This system will be used to inform students and parents of important dates, events and campus and district information. Any emergency messages can also be sent through this process. If you want to be included in this sytem, please contact your child's school to have your data updated with home phone, cell phone, and e-mail address.

Graham High School will be hosting two Parent Nights to help explain next year’s courses and programs. March 4, 2010 is the date for information for parents of students currently in grades nine through eleven. This program will be in the GHS cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. An additional Parent Night program will be held for parents of students of current 8th graders on March 23, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in the GHS Auditorium. This program is the annual parent orientation for high school courses, graduation plan requirements and other pertinent information. The Graham High School administration urges all parents to attend their respective session, especially since there are some important changes which reflect recent decisions made by Texas Education Agency and the State Board of Education. Parents will want to be informed of how Graham High School has adapted these changes into the current system of course offerings and local graduation plan requirements. If a parent has questions about these two events, or other related information, please call Graham High School at 549-1504. The ninth through eleventh grade students will be receiving this information on March 5th, and the eight graders will receive their information March 22nd. Students will be receiving a visual presentation as well as a printed “Program Guide”.

The Senior Baby Ads deadline has been extended. You can turn the ad in to Mindy Wiedebusch at GHS or purchase online at www.yearbooksforever.com until March 31.

Two teams of GHS students have been recognized by the Friends of the Texas Governor's Mansion for their research projects. Best Overall Research project was Bianca Avilia, Beatrice Garcia, and Jennifer Wellman "The Marlowe Brothers" and Best Use of Text by Hannah Ligon and Maci Gregg "The Warren Wagontrain Massacre". The contest is state wide. This is the second year that students have participated and won. Check the www.ftgm.com website to see the winning projects!

Kenny Davidson has been named Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Graham High School. Davidson has 14 years experience as a head coach and athletic director at Fort Worth Christian School and won a TAPPS 3A state title in 1991. Congratulations to Coach Davidson and his family.

Congratulations to Rikki Buckalew, Graham High School Senior, for winning the Grand Champion at the Fort Worth Stock Show. Her steer, War Admiral, brought in a record breaking $210,000 at auction and will be on display at the Fort Worth Zoo next year. Way to go Rikki!
