Congratulations to Rikki Buckalew, Graham High School Senior, for winning the Grand Champion at the Fort Worth Stock Show. Her steer, War Admiral, brought in a record breaking $210,00.00 at auction and will be on display at the Fort Worth Zoo next year. Way to go Rikki!

Please join the GHS Band Booster's for their Chili Supper on Tuesday, February 16th from 6:00-8:00pm. This event will be held in the new GHS Cafeteria and tickets wlll be available at the door for $7.50. The menu consists of chili, beans, and all the fixin's! See you there!

On the GISD school calendar, February 15th is listed as an early release day--however that is an error on the calendar. Graham ISD WILL NOT have an early release day on February 15. The state of Texas only allows school districts to file a waiver for 6 early release days each school year. GISD has already taken 4 early release days and we have two remaining: the Friday before Spring Break and the last day of school. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

The Graham Athletic Booster Club Fall Sports Banquet will be held on Monday, February 8th at 6:00pm at the Young County Arena. Graham Athletic Booster Club will honor fall 2009 trainers, cheerleaders and athletes. Tickets are $10. GHS students will be introduced followed by a Live/Silent auction (proceeds go toward scholarships). Please call John Mahan (521-1798) with any questions.

Graham ISD has moved in to District 6-3A for 2010-2012. The new district includes: Bowie, Burkburnett, Graham, Iowa Park, Vernon, and Wichita Falls Hirschi.

Members of the7th Grade GT Science class competed in a First Lego League Robotics Competition at The Hockaday School in Dallas. The team placed in the top 5 (out of 60 teams) in Project Presentation and received the 3rd place trophy in the Teamwork Division. Great job students and Mrs. Wright! They have put in long hours after school and on weekends to prepare for the competition and their hard work paid off. It is exciting how well our students are doing in only their second year of this curriculum.
